As many of you know Michael is also a classical pianist and is currently working on a recital that will include Rachmaninoff Preludes, Chopin Mazurkas, a CONTEMPORY classical composition called Secrets and Glass Gardens by New England composer, Jennifer Higdon.

He is also the director and bass singer of a solo vocal quintet called L'Armonia, www.L-armonia.com, and they are working towards a program of late renaissance Italian music by Monteverdi, Marenzio and Gesualdo as well as original compositions by Michael Michael's son, Chetan Tierra is an extraordinary piano virtuoso currently enrolled as a junior at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is a private student of Van Cliburn silver medalist, Antonio Pompabaldi. Chetan just won the prestigious concerto competition at CIM. In the next few years he will entering international piano competitions in hopes of winning one or more of these which will be a huge help in getting his career off the ground.

Michael's daughter, Shasta, lives in Capitola and practices acupuncture in Saratoga. Her husband Arnold Tayam is a highly respected martial arts master and master of Qi Gong.

Michael's son, Michael; is a successful building contractor living in nearby Boulder Creek.

His oldest son, Mark, is a nurse.

His daughter, Senta (named after the herb, 'yerba santa') just completed her teaching degree and works and teaches in Sacramento where she lives with her family, husband, son and daughter.

Finally Michael will be flying to New York City with his pianist friend, John Orlando to select three or four brand new nine foot Steinway grand pianos for the community. This will be very a very exciting adventure for someone who has had a lifetime of dedication as a pianist, conductor and composer - not sure what this means for herbalism. Best of all Steinway is paying expenses for us, including air and lodging.
