Clinic Overview
The clinic was first opened in 1978 in Santa Cruz, California by Dr.
Michael Tierra and was one of the first herbal and acupuncture clinics
in the area. Integrating a holistic approach with dietary, herbal, acupuncture
and lifestyle guidance, it has literally helped thousands of people both
locally and from throughout the world in regaining their most prized
possession, their health. Since 1987 Lesley Tierra, Michael's beloved
wife, became co-practitioner and brings her own healing approach that
has contributed greatly to the success of the clinic. The East West Clinic
is unique in its integration of many traditional natural healing systems
including Western phyto-therapeutic, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
and East Indian Ayurvedic Medicine along with innovative contemporary
healing methods. It is not uncommon that we are able to help those individuals
for whom conventional medicine has no acceptable answers. Above all,
people turn to us because the methods we use are safe, without side effects,
and highly efficacious.
It is our belief that patients should first seek out the safest and
most non-invasive approach to healing before resorting to more dangerous
methods that often only mask the outer symptoms without addressing the
underlying cause. We at the East West clinic treat both the symptoms
and the underlying case of disease.
Who's At The Clinic
Dr. Michael Tierra is a California
state licensed acupuncturist with an O.M.D. (Oriental Medical Doctor's
Degree) and founder of the American Herbalists Guild. He has been
in clinical practice for approximately 30 years and is available
for private on-line health, nutritional and/or herbal consultations.
Clients are provided with a comprehensive, individualized dietary
and herbal program based upon their presenting condition. In some
instances a follow-up consultation may be recommended to evaluate
the suitability or to adjust their program and evaluate their progress. |
Lesley Tierra is a California
state licensed and nationally certified acupuncturist and herbalist.
She has a practice in Santa Cruz, California where she combines
acupuncture, herbs and food therapies along with lifestyle and
inner growth counseling. She is a founding and professional member
of the American Herbalists Guild. |
